William opened the Wakefield Pharmacy on the corner of Pigeon Valley Road and Route Six (State Highway 6) in 1951. In this document he recounts his thirty years as a pharmacist, beginning with his apprenticeship in Auckland in the early 1940s, working at Kings Pharmacy in Richmond, and establising the Wakefield Pharmacy.
