This photograph was donated by John Hart.

The photograph shows cattle being herded through the intersection of Gladstone Road and Queen Street on their way to the freezing works in Stoke. The photograph was taken in 1976. The cattle were possibly coming from Takaka. There are a number of people on horseback behind the cattle.

Lower Queen Street can be seen in the background of the photograph. The Otterson Gum is on the right side of the photograph and on the left can be seen a large two storey building known as Craig House.
