The "Ferry Inn" at Tapawera

Follows the history of an accommodation house situated at the Tadmor crossing on the Motueka River, for many years, until the coming of the railway, the only building at the site of what is now the township of Tapawera. The "Ferry" ran from ca 1874-1904 and this article also tells the stories of the three families associated with the hotel - the Biggses  Kites & Wrights.
