Abstract

Marie Francois (nee Wearing) was born in 1913. Her father Stan Wearing had a grocery shop on the corner of Oxford and Queen Street and later worked at the College Hill store opposite Nelson College.  Mrs Francois worked as an apprentice at Cressey's Chemist shop, at her father's shop and at Savages china shop in Nelson. She married Loris (Lori) Gordon Francois.
